Financial Aid - K-8 Only

Mauna Loa School embraces the philosophy that every family who truly desires an education at Mauna Loa School for their child(ren) will be able to realize this goal. The school is committed to removing financial barriers to your child's admittance.

Tuition Assistance

Church Members- Many churches value Christian education and want to help their children attend MLS. Whether you attend one of our Seventh-day Adventist Churches or any other church, talk to your pastor about tuition assistance. Perhaps your church may start contributing to your Christian education. Hilo SDA/Puna SDA- A process is in place for tuition assistance. Please inquire at the school office for more details. Kurtistown SDA- Tuition assistance program for your church students is almost complete. Please inquire at the school office for more details.

Non-Church Members- It is our hope to provide Christian education to our entire community. MLS receives some assistance from our local Seventh-day Adventist Churches as well as its own limited resources to assist our community children to attend our school.

TADS- Tuition Aid Data Services

We are now using Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) to process financial aid applications. Based on the financial information you provide, TADS gives us an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. This estimate is a starting point to help us make fair and objective financial aid decisions. To be eligible for tuition assistance, begin your financial aid application for the 2022-23 school year by completing the steps below.

  1. Click on the link below or go to mytads.com.

  2. Click on the "Financial Aid Assessment" link.

  3. Click "Create New Account", if you do not have an account yet.

  4. If you completed an online application last year, use your e-mail address and existing password. If you have forgotten your password, click on “Forgot my password.”

  5. Submit and pay for the application. This fee is nonrefundable

You only have to complete one Financial Aid Application, even if you have several children applying. If you already completed a TADS application for another school you do not need to submit another. Just go back into TADS and add Mauna Loa School into the application. Call TADS Customer Service at 1-800-477-8237 with any questions (M-F: 7am-8pm CST) or send an email to support@tads.com.
